Charlotte’s Autumn / Winter Studio Notes | H&P Kids

H&P Kids · A Hoodies & Paws world
Collection 01 · Autumn / Winter · The studio journal

A season in good company.

“Bonjour. Charlotte here. Before a hoodie reaches your wardrobe, it spends quite a lot of time in my notebook.”

For our autumn–winter collection, I started with four friends, their colours and the things they do every day. Then I gave each of us four pieces: two hoodies and two T-shirts. Sixteen planned designs, all connected to the same story.

Come into the studio. I’ll show you the thinking behind them.

An advance look at our collection direction. Garment illustrations and phrases below describe proposed designs; finished products and launch details will follow.

01 / The season

Layers for changing days.

“Autumn becomes winter gradually. Our collection starts with that everyday rhythm: a T-shirt as a first layer, a hoodie over it, and your own outerwear when the weather asks for more. The colours give the pieces a family resemblance, whether you choose one character or mix two.”

We are planning eight hoodies and eight T-shirts. The collection’s seasonal story comes from colour, layering and illustration. Fabric, fit and finishing details will be shared with the finished garments.

02 / The palette

Four colours. Four personalities.

“I kept the colours already worn by our characters. That way, a piece can feel like Liza or Miguel before you even spot the illustration. Dusty rose, sage, lavender and ochre sit together softly, with enough difference to give each friend a place.”

Each character’s two hoodies and two T-shirts are planned in their signature colour family. These are our editorial colour references; final garment shades will be confirmed with the samples.

03 / The graphic language

A signature, a smile, a small story.

H&P

The signature

“H&P is our shared abbreviation for Hoodies & Paws. I want it to have room to breathe: a small, considered mark that ties the collection together.”

The smile

“Short phrases carry the humour. A CEO with snacks on her mind. A designer with one more note. The joke comes from who we are.”

The daily scene

“The illustrations catch us doing things: planning, drawing, listening, testing, packing and taking a break. Ordinary moments are where our personalities show up.”

04 / The collection plan

Open a character’s wardrobe.

“The same four-piece structure gives each friend equal room in the collection. Open my notes to see the proposed artwork and placement.”

01 / 04 · CEO & Creative Director

Liza Maria in dusty rose.

“I chose dusty rose for Liza: warm, expressive and just serious enough for a CEO who works from a stack of cushions.”

2 hoodies + 2 T-shirts · Dusty rose

Hoodie 01 — The H&P signature

A small H&P mark on the front, with “Small paws. Big plans.” as a discreet second detail. A quieter graphic treatment in dusty rose.

Hoodie 02 — A day at the office

Liza at her desk, pearls on, making a very important plan. The proposed main illustration sits on the back, with a small H&P signature on the front.

T-shirt 01 — A little attitude

“CEO. Chief Eating Officer.”

A phrase-led front, balanced with the H&P abbreviation. Short enough to read, with room around the lettering.

T-shirt 02 — Everyday Liza Maria

Liza packing her day bag, with a notebook and a carefully considered treat. A smaller front illustration with the H&P signature: a moment from daily life to wear under a hoodie or on its own.

02 / 04 · Customer Happiness Director

Miguel in sage green.

“Miguel gets sage green. It brings a calm note to the palette, like the friend who listens before answering.”

2 hoodies + 2 T-shirts · Sage green

Hoodie 01 — The H&P signature

A small H&P mark on the front, with “Good listener. Excellent snack radar.” as a discreet second detail. A quieter graphic treatment in sage green.

03 / 04 · Design Director

Charlotte in soft lavender.

“Lavender is mine. I wanted something imaginative and a little unexpected beside winter layers. It also looks lovely next to my notebook. Pure coincidence, bien sûr.”

2 hoodies + 2 T-shirts · Soft lavender

Hoodie 01 — The H&P signature

A small H&P mark on the front, with “I have notes.” as a discreet second detail. A quieter graphic treatment in soft lavender.

Hoodie 02 — A day at the office

Me at the drawing desk, comparing colour swatches and revising a hoodie sketch. The proposed main illustration sits on the back, with a small H&P signature on the front.

T-shirt 01 — A little attitude

“Très chic. Still in a hoodie.”

A phrase-led front, balanced with the H&P abbreviation. Short enough to read, with room around the lettering.

T-shirt 02 — Everyday Charlotte

Me choosing a scarf before a walk through Montréal. There may be several options. A smaller front illustration with the H&P signature: a moment from daily life to wear under a hoodie or on its own.

04 / 04 · Production & Quality Director

Maya in warm ochre.

“Maya wears ochre: the warmest note in our palette, borrowed from her hoodie and echoed by autumn light.”

2 hoodies + 2 T-shirts · Warm ochre

Hoodie 01 — The H&P signature

A small H&P mark on the front, with “Quality control. Snack approved.” as a discreet second detail. A quieter graphic treatment in warm ochre.

Hoodie 02 — A day at the office

T-shirt 01 — A little attitude

“One more test. Then treats.”

A phrase-led front, balanced with the H&P abbreviation. Short enough to read, with room around the lettering.

T-shirt 02 — Everyday Maya

Maya folding the day's hoodies and checking a parcel before it leaves the studio. A smaller front illustration with the H&P signature: a moment from daily life to wear under a hoodie or on its own.

05 / The details that matter

Everyone belongs in the picture.

“Miguel’s mobility cart stays visible in his illustrated scenes. Liza keeps her pearls. Maya keeps testing. I keep revising. These details make the characters recognisable and keep the clothes connected to their world.”

We are working from the current book’s characters: Liza the Shih Tzu, Miguel the chocolate Labrador, Charlotte the Poodle and Maya the Golden Retriever.

One collection · One book

The story continues in your wardrobe.

Liza e as Malas is the single book behind Collection 01. Our autumn–winter designs take that same friendship into the everyday: a colour, a little joke, a familiar face. That is where I started. And yes, I still have notes.”
